3 Tips To Stay Motivated All Year Long.

Now that the new year festivities have come and gone, today I am going to give you three tips on how to stay motivated all year long. I've observed that a lot of people get an extra kick of motivational energy when January 1st rolls around. It's a new year, new month, new week, new day and a fresh start. It seems on January 1st one is super motivated and ready to tackle everything then a few weeks pass by and people stop talking about it and that fire can dwindle a little, this is especially common when April swings on by. Now, I am going to give you some advice on how you can stay motivated all year long.

"Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: Don't try to be perfect; Just be an excellent example of being human." - Tony Robbins.

  1. Find an accountability partner: Make sure you choose the right person for this. My Aunt is my accountability partner and she's awesome! I have had accountability partners in the past who are so excited to accomplish their goals, and then pretty soon I am the only one reaching out to them and they only reach out to me if I reach out to them first, that's not how it should be. You need someone who will hold you accountable and help you as well not just one way. An accountability partner can be your best friend, family, or even find someone who you'd like to mentor you and see if they will be willing to be an accountability buddy with you. With Social Media now-a-days we have access to nearly everyone in every kind of niche.

  2. Make goals all year long: You should set goals all year long not just in the new year. However, you can use the New Year to make your 'Year' goals. I make "Dream Goals" which are 1-5 year goals. "Reality Goals" which are 1 year or less goals. "Monthly Goals", "Weekly Goals", "Daily Goals", and "Right Now Goals". When I make my Monthly Goals I look at my Dream and Reality goals and make sure I do something that will get me closer to those goals. I will also make sure I add something to each category to get me closer to all of my goals. I will do an example for you just using something random.  Example: "Reality Goal"- Finish this year of school.  "Monthly Goal"- Finish half a semester.   "Weekly Goal"- Finish one unit.  "Daily Goal": Complete three assignments. "Right Now Goal": Complete one assignment. See how if you add a goal to each category that includes something to get you closer to your end goal it will have a domino effect and it will be accomplished.

  3. Action = Motivation: I learned this from Kalyn Nicholson. In her "How To Live Your Best Life in 2018" video she mentioned how Action = Motivation when most people think that Motivation = Action. I have noticed in my life that the more things I do to get me closer to my goals the more motivated I become because my goal is getting closer and closer to being accomplished.
