Please do not fault me if I flinch at your loving hand. There once was a hand that wasn’t so loving.

Please do not blame me for my emotional scars. I had physical scars that I still carry around today.

Please do not get mad at me for destroying the room when you left. There once was a person who never came back for me.

Please do not fault me for being overprotective of you. There once was someone who wasn’t worth protecting.

Please do not hold against me my separation anxiety. You were the one who restored my soul so my tail can wag again and I do not want to lose you.

Please love me forever that’s all I ask. You gave me a family of my own and a place I can call home.
