What To Know Before Owning a Horse

Hey y’all and welcome back to Blogtober! It is now day 3. I am so excited to be planning out and writing posts for this, it is just the inspiration I needed! Have you been thinking about owning a horse? If so, then you’re at the right place. I am going to share with you a few things I think you should know before owning a Horse.

  • Time: There is a lot of time that is put into owning a horse. Care such as cleaning stalls or run-ins, feeding, and providing fresh water. Activity, Grooming, riding, and just bonding with your horse. I personally care for my Horses so I’ve put a lot of time into my Horses but I love it!

  • Cost: Horses are expensive. To purchase one is expensive and the care for them can be expensive as well.

  • Skill: You need to have a good understanding of where you’re at with your riding skill so you can be matched with a great Horse. This is important so it can be an enjoyable first experience.

  • Housing: It is important to know where you are going to house your Horse. It may be on your own property or you may board at a facility.

  • Mentor: While this isn’t crucial I think it is great to have a Mentor who has been where you are in the Horse world. This mentor could even help you on your Journey to finding the perfect Horse for you.
